Dear Parents,

ST. ANDREW THE APOSTLE OPENS SATELLITE SCHOOL IN TALL TIMBERS! – (sort of!)

Last week I wrote about how we need to help our children maintain a balance between using technology and engaging in human socialization. This week I am writing about the benefits of our technological age.

With a special thank you to our Technology Department, Ben Sarrat, (KW) was able to “attend” class these past two days with his classmates via the computer. A camera was installed in Mrs. Williams’ classroom which allows Ben and his mother to interact with his fellow classmates and “participate” in a few lessons on their computer at his home. Now Mrs. Williams will have to purchase a whole new wardrobe and be on her best behavior as her class becomes SAS’s first reality show.

Ben also received a paper chain, a link from each student, teacher, and administrator here at St. Andrew, with personal messages of prayers and good wishes.

One of my favorite quotes is “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.” Our school year has provided numerous experiences for our students and adults to give of their time and talents to others – especially to Ben. Through our giving and sharing we have created many moments that have taken our breaths away, many moments of learning that it is better to give than to receive.

* Friday, February 12th is a 1:45pm dismissal with child care only until 4:00pm
