Dear Parents,

I just returned from a visit to Ben’s house (KW) with Fr. Paul and Mrs. Williams. Ben is on oxygen throughout the day and night and using his wheelchair when he is able to venture out of the house.

Ben may not be able to return to our school and visit his classmates. Our prayers are needed now more than ever. As a community, our prayers are the best way for us to offer Ben and his family our love and support.

Even during these tough times, Ben and his family shared their latest challenge with us – to try all 31 flavors of Baskin Robbins ice-cream. As of today they have made it through seven flavors. One simple, small pleasure that has been turned into a goal!

Once again Ben has taught me another valuable life lesson: God gives us years, months, days, or sometimes only minutes–what gives us the right to waste the precious time He gives to us. Thank you, Ben.
